Mecky Creus is a cinematographer based in San Francisco, originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Creus began his career documenting and making videos of the skateboarding scene in Puerto Rico. He received his BA in Telecommunications and TV Production from the University of Sacred Hearts in San Juan, PR and a Masters Degree in Cinematography at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA.
Over the past years, he has worked on numerous short films, feature films, documentaries and music videos. His most recent projects include; the feature film "Yo soy un Político" ("I am a Politician"), adquired by HBO. The web series "The North Pole" screening nationwide starting in the heart of Oakland, CA to NYC, Washington DC, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago and the Film Independent Forum in Los Angeles. Few short films like "Beep", "Wichita Outlaw", "Mi Gallo", " Es Mejor Escucharlo (It's Better when you hear it) available at itunes store movies. And the documentary "Pedro E. Guerrero: A Photographer's Journey" broadcasted on the PBS American Masters series. Available to watch at the PBS channel/website.
Creus has worked for 10 years as a camera technician at Chater Camera in Berkeley, CA giving him in depth knowledge and ample experience with the latest high-end industry equipment.
